I ♥ Faces Pets Only Challenge

I thought it would be fun to post one of our chickens for this week's challenge. Two years ago my husband decided it would be fun to have a few chickens so we could have our own fresh eggs every day. Of course, he also loves animals so the thought of having something other than our dogs and cat was appealing. :)

We brought home 4 baby chicks and our girls(ages 3 and 5 at that time)had a blast naming them. This one is Cookie. She happens to be our last standing chicken from our first "group" of chickens. Unfortunately, the others have all fallen victim to the menu of local coyotes.

Cookie is unlike most chickens. She wants to be considered part of the family. She often stands at the back sliding door and watches us. Several times she has snuck in and we've found her on the kitchen counter eating whatever crumbs she could find. She cracks us up.

I took this picture while I was wondering our backyard and she was following me around. Enjoy!
